The officer reported Mahoney failed all three field sobriety tests given and was placed under arrest. In the booking room, Mahoney reportedly asked “Is there any way you can give me a break?” and “Isn’t there some kind of bargain?” Mahoney's blood-alcohol levels were .224, according to a Breathalyzer test, which is more than two-and-a-half times the legal limit of .08. Police issued Mahoney four citations in all: driving while under the influence, driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content of over .08, improper lane usage and speeding.
