Dad Gives 9-Year-Old Beer, Swastikas Drawn on Hillgrove: Police Blotter

Friday, June 7

Out-of-Control Customers

A waitress at Chequers said some customers screamed obscenities at her because their food didn’t come out quickly enough, police said. The customers called back and threatened to sue because they said she pushed one of them out of the restaurant. The officer said the offender is not known at this time.

McDonald’s was egged, as it is every Friday, police said.

Stolen Bike

A red, black and silver, 26-inch men’s Mongoose bike was stolen from behind Smother’s Realty group on June 5, police said. The bike was worth about $150.

Wednesday, June 5

Suspended, Revoked License

William R. Koonce, 21, of the 300 block of Beach in La Grange Park, was arrested around 5:15 p.m. near the intersection of Blanchan and Ogden, police said. He was charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Public Urination

A woman was ticketed for urinating at the La Grange Road Train Station around 7:39 p.m., police said.

Swastikas Drawn along Hillgrove and Burlington

Several swastikas were drawn in chalk around Kensington on both sides of the railroad tracks, police said.

One woman found three on her driveway along Burlington, while another person saw multiple swastika drawings at the intersection of Hillgrove and Kensington, police said.

Police also found a swastika drawing on a railroad control box, while the words “Hitler Mein Fuer” were written on Hillgrove near the police station.

Graffiti on Home

Graffiti was found on the garage of a home in the 600 block of South 10th Avenue, police said. The graffiti was not gang-related.

Tuesday, June 4

Dad Gives Child Beer

A woman said her ex-husband gave their 9-year-old child beer June 1 at a party  somewhere on Brainard between Ogden and 47th in La Grange, police said. The father was not charged, but the incident was entered as a matter of record.

House Egged

A house was egged around 8:51 p.m. in the 400 block of South Waiola, police said.
