Cook Country Sheriff Reminds You to Drive Responsibly on New Year's Eve

The Cook Country Sheriff's Department will be conducting random roadside safety checks over the weekend in effort to curb drunk driving.

In an effort to curb dangerous or drunk driving, the Cook County Sheriff’s Police will conduct a random roadside safety checkpoint over the weekend, according to the Office of Sheriff Thomas J. Dart.

Also, in the last four days the Cook County Sheriff’s Office – Central Warrants Unit successfully tracked and arrested more than 35 individuals wanted on driving under the influence (DUI) arrest warrants. This operation will continue this weekend.

“This is the time of year people like to be out celebrating, there is New Years, watching football, and being with family and friends. If you make the decision to drink, be responsible and please do not get behind the wheel of a car. Have a great time and at the same time act responsibly,” said Sheriff Dart.
