Blotter: Choking, Theft Reported at Park District Center

The following items are from Patch's reporting of the La Grange police blotter.

A La Grange woman told police Feb. 21 that her 14-year-old son was choked by another boy at the Park District of La Grange Recreation Center, 535 East Ave., and she wanted to file a report. Further information was not available Feb. 23 about any charges.

Another mother reported Feb. 21 that her son’s sweatshirt and Verizon Samsung cell phone were stolen at the park district center, where it had not been locked up. She was told to have her son use lockers and the park district is viewing security tape for a possible suspect.  No more information was available Feb. 23.

Employees’ Cars Burglarized

The unlocked vehicles of two employees at BB Chemical, 9600 Ogden Ave., were entered overnight and cigarettes and a wallet stolen, La Grange police learned Feb. 21  

Items Found

A Cricket cell phone that had been found at Spring and Cossitt avenues was turned in to La Grange police at about 3:19 p.m. Feb. 22.

A large green bag found near a flowerpot on the 500 block of south La Grange Road was turned in to La Grange police at about 3:09 p.m. Feb. 21.

Tires Slashed

A resident of the 800 block of south Waiola told La Grange police that three of his four tires were slashed Feb. 19 and 20 at a different location.

Purse Found, But Moved

A 53-year-old La Grange woman reported Feb. 21 she had left her purse in the La Grange Theatre, 80 S. LaGrange Road, went back and found it, but it had been moved. Nothing was taken from inside.  

CIA Watching Woman’

A resident of Windsor Place, 42 S. La Grange Road, told La Grange police Feb. 22 that she was on La Grange Road in Countryside and was chased by three males back to her senior residence. She said the CIA is watching her and she asked President Barack Obama if it was OK if she stayed at the residence. Police told her to go back inside her building.
