Speeding, Driving Without a License 

Police charged Carmen Massa-Martinez, 36, of Lyons, with speeding and driving without a valid license in the 1400 block of Maple Avenue about 12:40 a.m. Police said Massa-Martinez was going 47 mph in a 30 mph zone. She was given a Nov. 27 court date and released on bond.

Bikes Stolen 

Someone stole two bikes from a yard in the 400 block of La Grange Road.

Wednesday, November 6

Car Break-ins on Waiola 

Someone broke into three unlocked cars in the 900 block of Waiola Avenue. Nothing was reported missing.

Monday, November 4

Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid Accident

Police charged Moises Portillo, 51, of Chicago, with failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving on a suspended license near the intersection of 31st Street and La Grange Road about noon. He was given a Dec. 11 court date and released on bond.

Improper Lane Usage, Invalid License

Police charged Mona Salem, 41, of Brookfield, with driving without a valid license and improper lane usage during a traffic stop near the intersection of 31st and Raymond about 4:20 p.m.

Police said Salem was swerving between lanes about 4:20 p.m. and sharply turned into oncoming traffic lanes, before she turned sharply and drove onto  a parkway and nearly hit a tree. 

She was given a Nov. 27 court date and released.
