Break-in Reported at Gurrie Middle School, Offender on Roof Gets Away
Police saw the offender on the roof of the school when they responded to the alarm about 3:15 a.m.
La Grange police are investigating a break-in at Gurrie Middle School, 1001 Spring Ave., after an alarm sounded at the school about 3:15 a.m. Saturday.
Responders saw someone on the roof of the school, but did not catch the subject or make any arrests, police said.
Police found multiple forced entry attempts at a boys bathroom window, the southwest entrance to the school and a second floor window, where the intruder was able to cut through a screen to get inside. Once inside, the subject tried without success to steal instruments, police said.
Police said they are not ruling out the possibility that the offender was not alone. Nothing was reported stolen.
