Break-in Tried at Little League Building at Sedgwick Park

Here is a list of items taken from the La Grange police blotter

Someone tried to break into the Little League building at 49th Street and 12th Avenue in Sedgwick Park between July 15 and 17, according to La Grange police. No entry was made. A door handle was broken.

Marijuana found

Cordell T. King was charged with possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana at East and Ogden avenues at about 11:46 a.m. July 15. His car was towed. His age, town and more information were not given on the police shift report.

Three car break-in attempts

Three attempted or successful break-ins to vehicles were reported July 17 to La Grange police.

A resident of the 200 block of Sixth Avenue reported a possible break-in or possible theft attempt to his car parked on the block.

Someone broke onto an unlocked car parked on the 400 block of East Avenue, La Grange police learned  that day.

Also someone broke out the back window of car parked in the alley behind the resident’s home in the 1000 block of LaGrange Road, police learned that day. Police did not confirm whether this was a theft attempt.

Police Investigator Patrick Fulla reminds drivers to lock their vehicles and not leave valuable items inside. If such items have to be left inside the vehicle, keep them out of sight, he advised.

Two bikes stolen

Two bicycles were reported stolen on the 0-100 block of south LaGrange Road at about 7:09 p.m. July 15.

Bicyclist ill

A 75-year-old La Grange man who fell off his bicycle at 25 S. Ashland Ave. and was not feeling well was taken to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital by La Grange Fire Department ambulance at about 3:58 p.m. July 16.

Wedding couple nostalgic, climb roof

La Grange police received a call at about 5:46 p.m. July 17 of a group of people, including one wearing a wedding dress, apparently  climbing the roof of the pavilion of the former Rich Port YMCA site, 31 E. Ogden Ave. A police officer found a couple, who had been married that day, who said they went on the roof of the pavilion because it was a nostalgic place for them. The couple told the officer they are on their way and wanted to just enjoy the moment.

Parked car egged

A car parked in the driveway of a house on the 0-100 block of north Edgewood Lane was hit by thrown eggs sometime after 11 p.m. July 15, police learned the following day from the resident.
