Break-in to Car Parked in Village Lot Among Thefts Reported in La Grange

Here is a list of items taken from the La Grange poice blotter.

A Chicago man told La Grange police at about 5:51 p.m. that his car was burglarized while parked in the village lot on the south side of Harris Avenue at Madison Avenue. Stolen were a bag full of golf clubs; two tennis rackets; and a bag, marked DePaul, with tennis balls inside. 

Money stolen out of home

A resident of the 300 block of Bluff Avenue reported $210 was missing out of the home at about 8:36 a.m. July 23.

Flag stolen

A flag was stolen at a home in the 0-100 block of Bassford Avenue, it was reported at about 1:13 p.m. July 23.

Attempted bike theft

A La Grange man reported July 23 that someone damaged the lock and tried to steal his bicycle at Burlington Avenue and LaGrange Road.

Brick breaks car window

A brick was thrown through the window of a car parked on the 300 block of East Avenue, La Grange police learned at about 12:11 p.m. July 24

Window shatters

A window at Cold Stone Creamery, 76 S. LaGrange Road, accidentally shattered, La Grange police learned at about 4:31 p.m. July 24. A worker had a slight cut on her finger from the broken glass but refused medical assistance.

Late-night volleyball players

A group who was playing volleyball and talking at about 12:08 a.m. July 24 in Sedgwick Park, East Avenue and 49th Street, was sent on their way by La Grange police.

Skateboarders lose ‘wheels’

La Grange police confiscated the skateboards of youths who were in front of Starbucks, 38 S. LaGrange Road, at about 4:30 p.m. July 24. The skaters would not leave and would not give officers their names. Police told the youths to have their parents come to the police station to retrieve their skateboards.

Teens noisy outside school

La Grange police responded at about 1:31 a.m. July 24 to a call of three people in their late teens, possibly intoxicated, yelling on the property of Spring Avenue School, 1001 Spring Ave. One teen urinated on the property, police were told. Officers found three men, all age 18, who were sent on their way

Dog, cat found

A resident of the 100 block of Washington Avenue reported July 22 a black and tan female puppy belonging to a neighbor was in her yard. The resident said the neighbor did not want the puppy, and she could not keep it. She declined to say which neighbor owned the puppy, which police turned over to the Hinsdale Humane Society. 

A cat brought in to the La Grange police station at about 11:13 p.m. July 24 was turned over to the Hinsdale Humane Society. The police report did not describe the cat.

Gas leak suspected

The La Grange Fire Department responded to a possible gas leak inside a home on the 800 block of Calle View Drive at about 11:10 a.m. July 23.
