Homeless Man Arrested for Yelling at Woman 

Derrick Moore, 51, a homeless man in La Grange, was arrested for disorderly conduct after a woman reported that he yelled at her through her fence in the 100 block of Sawyer Avenue about 9:10 a.m. He was also reported Thursday for yelling outside a carwash in the 500 block of Edgewood Lane about midnight and at East and Ogden about 2:45 a.m.

Soliciting Report

A resident in the 500 block of Waiola reported a man for soliciting about 7 p.m.

Scrappers Caught Taking Construction Equipment 

A resident in the 800 block of South Catherine Avenue reported two people who were taking construction equipment from their neighbor’s house about 9:45 p.m. Police sent the scrappers away about 10 p.m. Nothing was stolen.

Vandalism at Park District Building

Police found graffiti at the Park District of La Grange building on the door, window display and garbage can about 10 a.m.

Loud Neighbors Reported 

A resident in the 200 block of Sawyer Avenue reported their neighbor across the street was playing their TV “extremely loud” about 12:10 a.m.  

Suspicious Person on Bluff

A man in the 0-100 block of Bluff Avenue reported an occupied car that was parked outside his house for some time about 4 p.m. The man told police when he knocked on the window to talk to the driver, the driver would not look at him.

Eggings Reported on Ogden, Sawyer

  • A man reported kids were throwing eggs on the side of the Ogden Avenue bridge about 10 p.m.
  • A woman in the 100 block of Sawyer Avenue reported someone egged her son-in-law’s car about 11 a.m.

iPhone Stolen 

A woman reported someone stole her son’s iPhone, which she tracked to somewhere on Washington until it was shut off about 7:45 p.m.

Loud Neighbors on Park

A resident in the 100 block of South Park Road reported a loud party in the backyard of his neighbor’s house.

Friday, September 13

Boy Tries to Set Napkin on Fire in School

A woman reported her 11-year-old son for trying to set a napkin on fire at St. John Luther School earlier in the week. The boy was given a detention and assigned an essay on the danger of fires, police said.

Kids Reported for Throwing Rocks

Police removed five kids from Cossitt School after someone reported them for throwing rocks about 7:40 p.m.

Warrant: Suspended License

Police charged Derrek Simmons, 38, of Willowbrook, with a warrant for driving on a suspended license about 12:15 p.m. in Bridgeview.

Warrant: Contempt of Court

Donald Barr, 51, of the 500 block of South La Grange Road in La Grange was arrested with a warrant out of Kane County for contempt of court.

Extra Watch Requested in Gordon Park

The park district requested extra watch in Gordon Park to patrol homeless people setting up their camps about 2:10 p.m.

Woman Reports Phone Harassment

A resident in the 0-100 block of North Dover reported she was being harassed by someone she suspects stole money from her about 4:30 p.m.

Friend Borrows Car, Doesn't Return 

A woman in the 100 block of Hayes Avenue reported her friend had not returned the car she let him borrow about 9:50 p.m.
