Blotter: Vehicle Hits Car, Bank and More

The following are from Patch's reporting on the La Grange Police blotter.

Vehicle Hits Car, Bank

A 77-year-old La Grange man told police he was pulling out of parking lot on Stone Avenue to go north at about 12:48 p.m. Nov. 5, and turned right onto Burlington Avenue when his food got stuck between the accelerator and brake pedal. His car struck a parked vehicle owned by a Villa Park woman that then struck another parked car of a La Grange man. The first vehicle then struck the wall of First National Bank of La Grange, 620 Burlington Ave. No tickets were issued nor injuries reported, .  

Credit Cards Used

A La Grange man told police Nov. 5 that two department store credit cards were used without his authorization by an unknown person. La Grange police said they have no suspects and the resident was given information about protecting his identity.

Placard Stolen

An 80-year-old La Grange man reported Nov. 7 that a handicap placard was stolen out of his car parked in a village parking lot along Burlington Avenue west of Brainard Avenue.

Driver ‘Followed’

A driver told police Nov. 5 that he was followed from Riverside to Ogden and Gilbert avenues by a Dodge Neon with two males inside. Someone in the Neon had been taking photos of his car, he said. The vehicle last was seen going north on Bassford Avenue from Ogden Avenue. La Grange police referred him to police in Riverside where the incident occurred.

LSU Flag Stolen

A resident of the 1100 block of south Spring Avenue reported Nov. 5 that an LSU flag was stolen off the front porch. A neighbor reported seeing four males the previous night carrying flags and running to a PT Cruiser.

Parked Cars Hit

A resident of the 300 block of south Brainard Avenue reported Nov. 6 that his car was hit while parked in front of his home.

A man reported Nov. 6 that his car was struck in front of his workplace on the 0-100 block of Brainard Avenue by a vehicle that fed.

A driver told police he returned at about 11:30 a.m. Nov. 6 to his car parked at Brainard and Goodman avenues and found damage. A witness reported a light-colored, four-door sedan had been in the area and driven by a woman about 65 to 75 years old. A male passenger also was in the car.

Man Finds Self by Tracks

La Grange police were called at about 6:23 a.m. Nov. 6 by a male who said his friend phoned to say he was drunk, fell or jumped off a bridge and was lying near railroad tracks, possibly in La Grange. Police checked the underpass near Tilden Avenue and said they did not find the man.

Pedestrian ‘Hit’

A woman told police Nov. 4 that she was hit by a car while walking a couple days earlier near Cossitt and Maple avenues.

Plates Lost

A woman reported Nov. 4 that she had been driving around the La Grange business district and noticed her front and rear license plates were missing.

No Tickets

No tickets were issued after the front of a 2011 Ford Fusion driven by 60-year-old LaGrange Park woman struck the rear of a 2010 Ford Transet owned by Ledo’s  Inc. in Countryside at Brainard and Hillgrove avenues at about 5:17 p.m. Nov. 3.

No injuries were reported, nor tickets issued after a three-car, rear-end collision at Ogden and Washington avenues at about 6:13 a.m. Nov. 1. The front vehicle was a van owned by Heritage Funeral Home in Berwyn.

A 2007 Chevrolet Silverado owned by Great Builder Deals collided at Ogden Avenue and La Grange Road at about 7 p.m. Nov. 1 with a 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan driven by a Lyons man. No tickets were issue, nor injuries reported.
