Blotter: Vehicle Burglarized; Wallet Stolen; Bikes Stolen

The following items are from Patch's reporting on the La Grange and La Grange Park police blotters.

A motor vehicle belonging to a La Grange business was burglarized on the 600 block of south LaGrange Road, La Grange police learned at about 8:38 a.m. May 19.

Wallet Stolen

A woman reported at about 8:28 p.m. May 18 that a man and woman stole her wallet while she was in a restaurant on the 0-100 block of south LaGrange Road. La Grange police had no further information May 21.

Attempted Bike Theft Suspected

A man cutting the lock of a bicycle using bolt cutters at the Stone Avenue train station, 625 Burlington Ave., about 10 minutes earlier was reported at about 7:28 a.m. May 19 by officials of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad. The man was wearing all-khaki clothing. La Grange police could not find him but will keep a special watch of the train station.

Bicycles Stolen

An unlocked bicycle was stolen from a bike rack at Beach Oak Park at about 8 p.m. May 17, while its owner was playing, according to La Grange Park police.  Stolen was a red and silver, 24-inch boys mountain bike worth less than $500.

An unlocked gray, blue and black Trek bicycle was reported at about 8:31 p.m. May 18 as having been stolen within the last hour at 100 S. Brainard Ave.

A red and white bicycle that had been left locked up was stolen from a bike rack at 201 W. Hillgrove Ave., La Grange police learned at about 5:47 p.m. May 17.

Backpack Found

A blue backpack was found at Spring and Elm avenues at about 10:07 a.m. May 20 and La Grange police contacted its owner to pick it up.
