Blotter: Speeding Van; Elderly Woman Ticketed; 3 Hit-and-Runs

The following items are from Patch's reporting on the La Grange and La Grange Park police blotters.

A Chicago man was ticketed May 20 after La Grange Park police said his 2000 Chevrolet Venture van was going 19 mph over the speed limit while it was southbound on the 1500 block of north LaGrange Road at about 6:10 a.m.

Marcos A. Landa-Soto, 33, was ticketed for speeding, 59 mph in a 40-mph zone, and driving while his license is suspended.

Driver, 85, Ticketed

An 85-year-old La Grange woman was ticketed May 19 for failure to reduce her speed to avoid an accident after she was trying to turn south onto Park Road from westbound 47th Street  at about 6:23 p.m. and struck an eastbound car she told police she did not see.

A Burr Ridge man returned at about 11:19 p.m. May 18 to his motorcycle parked in the lot of Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital, 5101 S. Willow Springs Road, and found it lying on the ground after another vehicle had struck it and damaged the vehicle. Security video surveillance did show another vehicle striking the motorcycle.

A La Grange woman told police at about 4:53 p.m. May 22 her car was hit while parked in the Trader Joe’s lot, 25 N. LaGrange Road.

A Brookfield woman’s 2001 Jeep Cherokee was struck at about 3:30 p.m. May 16 at Ogden Avenue and LaGrange Road by another vehicle that fled.
