Blotter: Threatening Calls, Threatening Males and More

The following items are from Patch's reporting of the La Grange police blotter.

Threatening Calls

A 26-year-old La Grange man told police on Jan. 3 that he has been receiving threatening text messages on his cell phone and a call from a 630-area code that seemed to use a “fake” voice. The man called the number, but said he received text messages back to stop calling.

A group of males in front of two businesses on the 0-100 block of south La Grange Road were reported making comments at about 6:43 p.m. Dec. 29 about female teens with them, particularly about duct taping and raping them. The males also were reported pushing the girls toward the street. The three males and the girls last were seen walking west on Harris Avenue from La Grange Road, but police said they could not find them.

Game System, $100 Missing

A La Grange woman told police Jan. 2 that a PlayStation 3 game system and $100 were missing out of her home when she returned from a vacation. Her sister and her boyfriend had been housesitting for the past week. La Grange police said the suspect is an Elmwood Park man.

Car Hits Deer

The front right and middle of a 2007 Pontiac driven by a 24-year-old McCook woman struck a deer on Ogden Avenue about 25 feet west of Brainard Avenue, La Grange police learned at about 12:30 p.m. Dec. 29. The police report did not indicate whether the deer was killed.

Security Guard Passes Out

A 44-year-old man who is a security guard at Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital, 5101 S. Willow Springs Road, had a diabetic reaction and passed out in the revolving doors of the main entrance at about 12:06 a.m. Dec. 30. He was freed from the doors and taken to the emergency room.

Public Works Busy

The La Grange Public Works Department responded to calls of water main breaks at Spring and Brewster avenues at about 9:06 a.m. Jan. 2 and on the parkway  of the 200 block of south Edgewood Lane at about 8:10 p.m. Jan. 1; and of water coming up from a sewer on the 100 block of north Park Road at about 8:39 a.m. Jan. 1.
