Phone Scam Costs Thousands
A La Grange man lost several thousand dollars when he responded to a phone scam from a “grandson” needing money, and sent money through Western Union, La Grange police learned April 5.

A woman called La Grange police on April 8 after receiving a text from a friend who lives in La Grange that said she and her husband were arguing and he was going to “set her free.” The caller said she was scared because there are guns in the house. Police went to the home, but said the couple was calm and all appeared fine.
Kids On the Loose

Several kids were sent on their way after they had been refusing to leave McDonalds, 100 N. La Grange Road, at about 7:42 p.m. April 8.
La Grange police said they could not find a 17-year-old boy with red hair and wearing a green hoodie who was reported crouching behind cars in a parking lot at 6th and Harris avenues at about 8:50 a.m. April 8.
Skateboarder ticketed
A 19-year-old Downers Grove man was ticketed at about 8:57 p.m. April 6 at 30 S. La Grange Road for violating village ordinances that prohibit skateboarding in the business district.
