Blotter: Man Steals $15 From Boy and More

Male Grabs $15 from Boy
A 15-year-old boy told La Grange police he was counting money on the street near Madison and Cossitt avenues at 11:36 a.m. Feb. 11 when another male took $15 from him and ran away. The male was wearing all black, a black hoodie and red gym shoes. Police stopped a suspect near Hillgrove and Madison but discovered he was not the robber. No weapon had been shown.

La Grange police at 8:02 a.m. on Feb. 9 stopped a silver Hyundai seen circling St. Cletus School, 700 W 55th St., the previous day and called in by worried observers. The driver, a La Grange man, told an officer he drops off his own and neighbor’s kids at the school and circles the building to make sure they get inside.

A father told La Grange police at about 10:58 a.m. Feb. 10 that an 18-year-old man had been bothering his daughter on the grounds on Seventh Avenue School, 701 S. Seventh Ave. The girl’s age was not given. Police also received a call at about 4 p.m. the previous day that the same man was on school grounds. No arrest was made either day of the man, whose name police have. Further information was not available Feb. 13 from police.
Identity Stolen
A resident of the 0-100 block of south Waiola Avenue reported identity theft to La Grange police at about 9:25 p.m. Feb. 12. No further information was available Feb. 13 from police.
Gas Smell Reported
A smell of natural gas was reported at about 5:17 a.m. Feb. 13 outside Starbucks at La Grange Road and Harris Avenue. The La Grange Fire Department was called.
Credit Card Found
Someone brought La Grange police, at about 2:54 p.m. Feb. 12, a Master Card that had been found outside the village parking garage, 80 S. Sixth Ave. Master Card had blocked the card and will issue a new one to its owner. Police will destroy the old card.
Car Keyed at Church Lot
A woman told La Grange police she came out of services at St. Cletus Church, 600 W. 55th St., at about 11:03 a.m. Feb. 12 and found someone had keyed her car that had been parked in the church lot.
