Blotter: Cars Broken Into, Library Theft and More

Here are a few items from Patch's coverage of the La Grange and La Grange Park police blotters.

Three cars were broken into Oct. 29 while their owners were at parks in La Grange and La Grange Park, according to police. 

The driver’s side window on a vehicle was shattered and a purse left in plain view on the passenger seat was taken between 11:30 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. Oct. 29 while the owner was watching her child’s soccer game in , La Grange Road and Oak, according to La Grange Park police..

A woman told at about 11:45 a.m. Oct. 29 that she was watching her son’s soccer game at , 49th Street and 10th Avenue, when she found the car window broken and someone had entered the vehicle. The loss was not given. A second woman said Oct. 29 her car was broken into while parked near Sedgwick and a purse stolen.

Library Theft

A 13-year-old La Grange girl was charged with library theft after police said she used someone else’s library card at the Brookfield and La Grange public libraries.

Package Missing

A resident of the 600 block of 10th Avenue reported Oct. 31 missing a package that was supposed to be mailed to her. Its value was less than $300.

Bike Stolen

A red, Trek, men’s 10-speed bicycle was reported stolen at Gurrie Middle School at about 6 p.m. Oct. 27.

Hat Stolen

A male walked into a store on the 0-100 block of south LaGrange Road at about 7:44 p.m. Oct. 27 and left without paying for a purple and tan Orlando Solar Bears hockey team hat, police learned.
