Blotter: Car Burglarized, Credit Card Used and More

The following items are from Patch's reporting on the La Grange and La Grange Park police blotter.

Car Burglarized

The window of  a car parked at Panera Bread, 439 N. La Grange Rd., was broken at about 6:30 a.m. Feb. 1. Items taken from inside were recovered a short time later, La Grange Park police said.

A La Grange woman who lost her Visa credit card in the La  Grange business district told police Feb. 2 that it had been used to make purchases at Walgreen’s, 2 N. La Grange Rd.

Bicycle Stolen

A silver/black men’s, 26-inch Iron Horse bicycle was stolen between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Stone Avenue train station, 625 Burlington Ave. Its value was $100.

Man Offers to Help With Park Class

Someone teaching a  class at the Park District of La Grange location at 200 Washington Blvd. told police on Feb. 2  that a heavyset man with short gray hair, a beard and mustache had offered to help at about 4 p.m. Jan. 28. Police were to watch the area on Feb. 4 during the class, which was not described. No follow-up was listed as to whether the man showed up at the class.

Ambulance Called Separately for 4

A 13-year-old boy who looked like he was passing out at St. Francis Xavier Church, 124 N. Spring Ave., was taken by La Grange Fire Department ambulance to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital at about 10:35 a.m. on Feb. 5.

An ambulance was called for a 93-year-old man who was feeling disoriented at Trader Joe’s, 25 N. La Grange Rd., at about 6:03 p.m. Feb. 3. The police report did not indicate whether he was taken to the hospital.

A 53-year-old woman who fell inside First National Bank, 620 Burlington Ave., was taken by ambulance to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital at about 8:55 a.m. Feb. 2.

A 17-year-old boy who possibly broke his left wrist  was taken  by ambulance at about 11:11 a.m. on Feb. 2 from Lyons Township High School's North Campus, 100 S. Brainard Ave., to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital.

Reckless Driver Reported

A La Grange police officer was flagged down while eastbound on 47th Street at La Grange Road at about 4:30 p.m. Feb. 4 and was told of a white Landrover with no license plates driving recklessly southbound. The officer said that by the time the squad car cleared the intersection, the Landrover was gone.
