Blotter: Break-in at Church, Two With Handgun Reported and More

The following items are from Patch's reporting of the La Grange police blotter.

Two priests at St. Cletus Church, 600 W. 55th St., reported hearing an intruder in the church at about 1:57 a.m. April 1.

One priest told La Grange police he heard someone in the church and saw a person in a blue shirt run through the vestibule. Another priest said he was doing altar work with someone and also heard another person in the church.

La Grange police investigators had no further information April 2. Police will keep a watch on the church.

Two ‘Have Handgun’

La Grange police responded to a call of an unlawful use of a weapon, a handgun, at 55th Street and La Grange Road at about 3:52 a.m. March 31. Police questioned two people but more information was not available April 2 from police.

Bike Stolen By Relative

No charges were issued after two locked bicycles worth almost $1,500, were taken March 31 out of a locked garage on Waiola Avenue and recovered the next day on Hayes Avenue, where they had been sold by a relative of the first home owner, according to police investigators.

Garage Break-in Suspected

A side door of a garage on the 900 block of south Waiola Avenue may have been tampered with in an attempt to break-in, La Grange police learned March 31. Nothing was missing.

Money, iPod Missing

A La Grange woman told police April 1 that she suspects her son’s father may have taken $300 and an iPod out of the apartment they used to share.

La Grange Man Robbed in Chicago

A 50-year-old La Grange man reported he was robbed at 22nd Street and Kostner Avenue in Chicago and his nose and fingers were broken. He first reported the incident to Orland Park police who referred him to La Grange police. They advised him to talk to police in Chicago, where the incident happened.
