Blotter: Bicyclist Hit, Bullet Shell Found by School and More

The following are items from Patch's reporting on the La Grange and La Grange Park police blotters.

Car Hits Bicyclist

A bicycle ridden by 26-year-old Western Springs woman was hit at Maple and Brainard avenues at about 5:17 p.m. Nov. 3 by a 2011 Ford Fusion driven by a 60-year-old La Grange Park woman. The bicyclist refused transportation to the hospital. No tickets were issued. The bicyclist said she was riding west on Maple and halted at the stop sign at Brainard for the right-of way. She entered the intersection and was hit by the southbound vehicle, whose driver said she had not seen the bicycle. Police said the intersection is poorly lit  with only one street lamp activated, on the southwest corner. 

Bullet Shell Found at School

An empty .22 caliber shell was found between the main entrance and bicycle rack at Ogden Avenue School, 501 Ogden Ave., police learned at about 1:20 p.m. Nov. 5.  

Man Unruly in ER

A 51-year-old Brookfield man who was reported to be unruly in the emergency room of Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital at about 2:58 p.m. Nov. 7 was taken home by La Grange police.

Two Cars Crash

An ambulance was requested at about 9:24 p.m. Nov. 7 after two vehicles collided at 49th Street and LaGrange Road. La Grange police had no information Nov. 8 on whether any occupants were taken to the hospital or details of the crash.

Car Taken in Lyons Hijacking

La Grange police could not find a silver Nissan that Lyons police said was involved in in a vehicle hijacking in their village and last was seen going west on Plainfield Road from 47th Street at about 12:23 a.m. Nov. 7. The driver was a man, about 5-foot-10, with a medium build and wearing a light blue jacket. He may have been armed with a knife, police were told.

Chilhuahua Found

A chilhuahua-mix dog was found at about 1:23 p.m. Nov. 5 in the back yard of a home on the 200 block of Washington and turned over to La Grange police. The dog was brought to the Hinsdale Humane Society.

Hearing Voices

A La Grange woman told police Nov. 5 that she believes someone is talking to her through the ceiling fan and asked officers to check her house on south Kensington Avenue. Police said everything was fine in the home.
