Monday, Aug. 12

Kids swinging on tree branches

Several kids were hanging on tree branches at Cossitt and Madison around 3:51 p.m., police said. Officers warned them and sent them on their way.

Hit-and-run on Brainard

A hit and run occurred around 4:33 p.m. in a lot in the 100 block of South Brainard, police said.

Graffiti on parking garage

Graffiti was painted in the main entrance of the parking garage, 80 S. La Grange Road, police said.

Credit card fraud

A man reported that several purchases had been made on his lost credit card, police said.

Stolen bike

A light green boy’s BMX bike with dark green flames, as well as pegs on the back and a silver dice cap on the rear tire, was stolen on July 20 from a yard in the 1100 block of South Waiola, police said. The resident said a suspicious teenager who claimed to be looking for his cell phone was walking around her yard on July 22. She told police she thinks he may have dropped his phone while stealing her son’s bicycle.

Three bikes stolen on Calendar

Three bikes were stolen and a car rifled through in the 300 block of East Calendar Avenue, police said.

Friday, Aug. 9

Yelling outside Prasino's

A man was reportedly yelling outside Prasino’s around 8:49 a.m. before heading south on La Grange Road, police said. Officers located him outside the First Congregational Church and sent him on his way.

Hit-and-run at Burlington and La Grange

A hit and run happened around 1:35 p.m. near the intersection of Burlington and La Grange Road, police said. The offending vehicle is a black van with possible damage on the passenger side, as well as light blue paint that transferred from the other car.

Wallet stolen at Blueberry Hill

A wallet was stolen July 27 while its owner dined at Blueberry Hill, police said.

Thursday, Aug. 8

Tools stolen from car

Tools were stolen from a car parked in the 300 block of South 8th Avenue, police said.

Unwanted packages

A resident in the 800 S. Waiola said she has been receiving small packages addressed to her, police said. She told police she believes someone is sending the packages to her house so they can determine when she’s not home.

Aug. 7

Drug paraphernalia in library

Drug paraphernalia was found around 9:38 a.m. in the lower level restroom at the La Grange Public Library, police said.

Graffiti on viaduct

Graffiti was found on the viaduct at Tilden and Burlington, police said.

Ticket for dirty language

Tyler J. Leonhard, 23, of the 200 block of South 6th Avenue in La Grange, was ticketed at Starbucks for crossing against the light and screaming obscenities, police said.

Tuesday, Aug. 6

Stolen bike

A black and orange Schwinn Spitfire 20-inch boys bike was stolen from a driveway in the 500 block of South Madison Avenue, police said.

Bloody footprint on sidewalk

A bloody footprint was found on the sidewalk in front of a home in the 200 block of Washington Avenue, police said. The home’s porch was also covered with blood, but when officers questioned the resident, she said she cut her foot the night before and would clean up the blood today.
