Hypodermic Needles at Waiola Park

A woman found hypodermic needles in Waiola Park on Aug. 31 and threw them out, police said. She emailed the Park District of La Grange, which then reported the needles to the police department.

Laptop, iPod Stolen

A laptop and iPod were stolen from a car parked in the downtown garage between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. Sept. 2, police said.

Attempted Home Burglary

Someone forcibly opened a garage door on a home in the 200 block of South Waiola, police said. Nothing was missing.

Unruly Passenger Removed from Train

La Grange police helped BNSF police remove an unruly passenger from a train at Hillgrove and La Grange, police said.

Log Thrown through Car Window

A log was thrown through the window of a car parked in the 0-99 block of Elder Lane, police said. Words were also carved into its body.

Dangerous Mosquito Abatement Effort

A man in his 40s rode a bike up to Hillgrove and Ashland around 9:09 p.m. before walking on the tracks and declaring, “This is where you stand if you don’t want mosquitoes stinging you,” according to police reports. The man was gone when officers arrived.

Hit and Run

A black Pontiac was witnessed leaving the scene after striking another car around 2:05 a.m. near the intersection of 51st and 8th, police said.

Saturday, Aug. 31

Broken Window on House

A man and woman were seen running down a driveway in the 0-99 block of Elder Lane around 6:17 p.m., police said. An outer pane of glass was broken in one of the home’s windows.

Suspended, Revoked License

Kristina M. Belushi, 22, of the 7400 block of East Thomas Road in Scottsdale, AZ, was arrested around 6:38 p.m. in the 300 block of South La Grange Road, police said. She was charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license.
