Rock, Threatening Letter Left on Porch

A resident in the 200 block of West Harris said a rock and a threatening letter were left on his front porch over the weekend, police said.

Catalytic Converter Theft

Catalytic converters were taken from five trucks parked over the weekend in the 400 block of East Elm, police said. The parts were worth more than $500.

Suspended, Revoked License

John D. Gedwill, 33, of the 7500 block of Savoy Lane in Bridgeview, was arrested around 8:24 a.m. near the intersection of La Grange and Ogden, police said. He was charged with driving with a suspended or revoked license.

Debit Card Fraud

A resident in the 800 block of South La Grange Road said somebody used her debit card in Chicago, police said. La Grange police are investigating it as identity theft.

Attempted Burglary on South 8th

A burglar attempted to enter a home in the 700 block of South 8th Avenue by removing panes of glass from its garage windows, police said.

Hand Pushing Allegations

A woman told police that a vendor at the La Grange Craft Show pushed her hand when she pulled out her phone, police said. The vendor, who had a sign in his booth that said “No pictures to be taken,” said he didn’t touch the woman. The woman said she was just checking her phone, not taking pictures. The responding officer told them that even if she were taking pictures, it would be OK because they were on public property. The woman decided not to pursue a case.

Fight Near Calendar and Washington

Several people got into a verbal fight around 11:07 p.m. near the intersection of Calendar and Washington, police said. Officers stayed in the area until everyone calmed down.

Bicyclist Hit by Car

A driver hit a bicyclist around 8:01 p.m. in the 0-99 block of North La Grange Road, police said. The bicyclist was not injured.

Marks on Business' Back Door

The back door of K Cleaners, 803 W. Hillgrove Ave., had what appeared to be marks from someone trying to force his way in, police said. It’s not known if the damage is recent.

Fireworks in Spring Avenue School Parking Lot

Adults and kids were reportedly setting off fireworks around 9:55 p.m. in the parking lot at Spring Avenue School, 1001 Spring Ave., police said. The people were gone when officers arrived.

Kid on Bike Runs into Car

A 7-year-old boy rode his bike into a car around 4:33 p.m. in Village Lot 5, police said. The boy wasn’t injured.

Suspended Registration

Jamie E. Kaufmann, 29, of the 800 block of Foxworth Boulevard in Lombard, was arrested around 5:01 p.m. near the intersection of Madison and Hillgrove, police said. She was charged with driving with suspended registration.

Man Falls Asleep in Starbucks

A man was asked to leave Starbucks after he refused to move and fell asleep without buying anything around 8:10 a.m., police said.
