Blotter: What To Do With an Injured Raccoon

The following items are from Patch's reporting of the La Grange police blotter.

Injured  raccoon Found

A resident of the 200 block of south Edgewood Lane reported March 30 having trapped an injured raccoon and wanted to turn it in to police. Police refused, saying this was their policy. The resident said the Hinsdale Humane Society would accept the raccoon from a police officer, but if the raccoon was injured it needed to go to a veterinarian for treatment. No more information was available April 2 on who had the raccoon. 

Two Taken to Hospital

A woman who was suffering leg pain at a Target in Hodgkins was taken by La Grange ambulance to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital at about 4:05 p.m. April 1 in mutual aid to the Pleasantview Fire Protection District.

A 44-year-old homeless man who was not feeling well was taken by ambulance from 10 W. Burlington Ave. to Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital at about 8:28 p.m. March 31.

Wallet Missing

A Riverside woman reported March 30 that she lost her wallet at Palmer Place, 56 S. La Grange Rd. The wallet contained a credit card, insurance card and Illinois lottery ticket.   

Kids Sent on Their Way

Three males who were riding their bicycles over curbs at Walgreens, 2 N. La Grange Rd., at about 7:08 p.m. April 1 were sent on their way by La Grange police.

La Grange police sent away four male teens who were refusing to leave McDonalds, 100 N. La Grange Rd. at about 10:11 p.m. March 31.

Kids Break Into Gate

A caller told La Grange police that a group of kids broke into the gate at Cossitt Avenue School, 115 W. Cossitt Ave., and were at the rear of the school at about 3:43 p.m. March 31, but police said they could not locate them.

Kids on Tracks

Kids were reported playing on railroad tracks near the 7-Eleven, 9600 Ogden Ave. at about 4:22 p.m. March 29, but police said they were gone when they arrived.

White Suitcase Found

La Grange police threw out an empty white suitcase found lying against the wall of La Grange Village Hall, 53 S. La Grange Rd., in the alley near the parking garage at about 10:20 a.m. March 31.

House Egged

A house on the 1200 block of south Spring Avenue was hit by eggs thrown by male juveniles at about 9:26 p.m. March 29.

Driver Reckless

A driver driving recklessly and without headlights was reported going north on La Grange Road at Burlington Avenue at about 10:13 p.m. March 29. La Grange Park police stopped the vehicle.
