19 Area DUIs Include Celebrity-Bash Partier Who Returns to Scene of the Crime

DUI Roundup is a compendium of driving-under-the-influence charges reported during the week prior to Nov. 23 in Patch towns throughout the west suburbs.

The 19 DUI reports filed in area Patch towns this week include a .171 BAC, some reckless driving charges and the unusual case of the 32-year-old woman who was cited in August for public drunkenness after a high-profile, after-hours celebrity bash in Geneva. This time, she's charged with DUI and possession of a marijuana grinder.

ELMHURST

NOV. 17: Sean M. Cummings, 36, 1418 Surrey Road, Batavia, was arrested and charged with DUI after his black Mitsubishi Lancer allegedly hit a guardrail at County Line and Lake Street at 5:16 a.m. He also was charged with driving without insurance, disobeying a stop sign and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. He was released on bond.

GENEVA

NOV. 7: Geneva police arrested Alexis Gault, 32, of St. Charles on charges of speeding, driving under the influence of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, improper lane usage, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis less than 2.5 grams around 1:56 a.m. Nov. 7 in the 400 block of West State Street, reports said. According to complaints in the 16th Circuit Court, Gault “knowingly possessed” a pipe and cannabis grinder, “an item of drug paraphernalia, with the intent to use that grinder in preparing cannabis for consumption.” She has a court date of Dec. 11 at the Kane County judicial Center, 37W777 Route 38, St. Charles. Gault of Geneva, previously identified as a server at EvenFlow Music & Spirits, was cited for public drunkenness Aug. 25 along with Jenny McCarthy's sister and three other celebrities, actress Kelly Monaco, U.S. National dance champion Sergey Onik and actor Heath Freeman.

GLEN ELLYN

NOV 12: Valderrama P. Frias, 23, 1757 Avelon Court, Glendale Heights, was arrested and charged with DUI, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and driving without a license after he was involved in an accident at Bloomingdale and Geneva roads at 3:03 a.m.

CLARENDON HILLS

NOV. 18: Budisa Stankovic, 46, of the 4300 block of North Newland Avenue, Harwood Heights, was charged with DUI, police said, after he drove his vehicle into the rear-end of a semi truck while traveling north on Route 83 near 58th Street at 7:55 p.m. and then was observed to be under the influence of alcohol by officers. Stankovic had been spotted driving erratically on Route 83 in Willowbrook before the accident. He was charged with DUI and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, police said, then released and transported to an area hospital.

LEMONT

NOV. 13: John T. Segerberg, 25, 13716 McCarthy Road, Lemont, was arrested at 11:43 p.m. for driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding following a traffic stop at Archer Avenue and 131st Street. He was issued a Dec. 2 court date at the Bridgeview Courthouse.

NAPERVILLE

NOV. 15:

  • Manisha J. Arora, 37, of Custer Park, was arrested at 6:57 p.m. near Gleneagles Drive and Hempstead Avenue, police said. She was charged with aggravated driving under the influence.

  • David Thomas Crawley, 30, of Oswego, was arrested at 11:54 p.m. in the 1500 block of Watkins Lane, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He was transported to DuPage County Jail.

NOV. 17:

  • Jay A. Jaskiewicz, 27, of Montgomery, was arrested at 1:13 a.m. near 83rd Street and South Route 59, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He posted bond.

  • Victor D. Nolen, 50, of Sheridan, was arrested at 4:45 a.m. near Ferry Road and Route 59, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He posted bond.

  • William Edward Lundgren, 61, of Montgomery, was arrested at 9:11 p.m. near Naper Boulevard and East Chicago Avenue, police said. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He posted bond.

  • OAK PARK-RIVER FOREST

    NOV. 16: Santos Avelar, 45, of Chicago, was charged with felony aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Harlem Avenue about 5 p.m. His blood alcohol content was .171, police said.

    NOV. 16: Augustin Martinez, 56, of Chicago, was charged with felony aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol during a traffic stop near the intersection of North and Thatcher avenues about 10 p.m. His blood alcohol content was .096, police said.

    NOV. 14: Leonel Flores, 31, of Manvel, TX, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, reckless driving and driving while license revoked. Police stopped Flores for driving 75 mph in a 30 mph zone in the 1200 block of Harlem Avenue about 2:30 a.m.

    NOV. 11: John Giovenco, 31, of Oak Park, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs during a traffic stop near the intersection of Des Plaines Avenue and Madison Street in Forest Park about 2:30 a.m. Police responded a call about reckless driving and stopped Giovenco after he ran a red light on Madison Street. Giovenco told police he was on pain medications and that he hadn't been drinking. He was charged with DUI, improper lane usage, disobeying a traffic signal, driving without headlights and a seatbelt violation. He was given a Dec. 17 court date and released.

    ST. CHARLES

    NOV. 16: Dana Marie Shillington, 31, of the 800 block of Seacrest Lane, Bartlett, was charged at 10 p.m. on the 100 block of South 2nd Avenue with driving under the influence of alcohol, improper lane use, and no insurance. Police were called to the area after a report of a crash involving a 2006 Ford Mustang that struck the north side of a building at 204 Illinois Ave. No one was reported injured in the wreck. She was released on her own recognizance pending a Dec. 26, 2013 court appearance.

    NOV. 14: Kevin Joseph Scott, 52, of the 2400 block of Fairfax Road, St. Charles, was charged 1:38 a.m. on the 1400 block of West Main Street with DUI, DUI with a blood-alcohol concentration greater than .08, and speeding-47 in a 30 mph zone. Police said his blood-alcohol concentration registered .098. Scott was released on his own recognizance pending a Dec. 19, 2013 court appearance.

    WHEATON

    NOV. 16: Ingrid C. Moody, 29, of the 400 block of Hazelton Avenue, Wheaton, was arrested at 1:44 a.m. at Beverly Avenue and Roosevelt Road on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. She posted bond and was released pending a court appearance.

    NOV. 15: Alexander J. Bergantino, 29, of the 5S000 block of Pebble Lane, Naperville, was arrested at 2:48 a.m. at East and Roosevelt Road on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol. He posted bond and was released pending a court appearance.

    NOV. 15: Brendan S. Regan, 29, of the 1700 block of Shire Court, Wheaton, was arrested at 12:03 a.m. at Roosevelt Road and Fapp Circle on charges of DUI, obstructing a peace officer, and no insurance. He posted bail and was released pending a court appearance.
