1,400 Gallons of Gas Stolen from Westchester Station

Police are investigating the theft from the Shell station on Roosevelt Road.

Over 1,400 gallons in gasoline has been stolen so far in 2013 from the Shell station at 10200 Roosevelt Road in Westchester in two separate thefts, The Doings La Grange reports.

According to the paper, the theft occurred first on Jan. 22/23 with about 800 gallons stolen, and then on Feb. 2/3 with about 600 gallons stolen.

“Somebody is actually going to the pump and altering the valve,” Westchester Police Department Lt. Jeff Mersch told the paper. “Our investigators are working on it.”
