Loyola to Host Women’s Health and Wellness Event

Loyola Center for Fitness will host a free women’s health and wellness day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 2160 S. First Ave., Maywood.

“This event provides women with an opportunity to make their health and wellness a priority,” said Jaimie Lehotsky, executive director, Loyola Center for Fitness. “It also offers valuable information and tools to help women care for themselves and their families.”

Women’s Day activities will include gait analysis, fitness demonstrations, special group exercise sessions, discounts, nutrition lectures and blood pressure checks.

The keynote speaker will be Colleen Fitzgerald, MD. She will provide an ask-the-expert session. Dr. Fitzgerald’s specialty is physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R). Her areas of clinical and research interest include pregnancy-related pain disorders, pelvic pain, pelvic floor dysfunction and pelvic rehabilitation.

Dr. Fitzgerald is the medical director for the Chronic Pelvic Pain Program at Loyola University Health System and an associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Division of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.

Loyola Center for Fitness has been ranked the No. 1 fitness center by the Chicago Tribune Reader's Poll. This state-of-the-art facility has premium locker room amenities and degreed, certified professionals. The center will waive enrollment fees for people who become members on Women's Day.
