Loyola Appoints New Pediatric Dermatologist

Wendy Schumacher-Kim, DO, has joined Loyola University Health System as a pediatric dermatologist. She is an assistant professor of internal medicine, pediatrics and pediatric dermatology in the Department of Medicine at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine.

Dr. Schumacher-Kim sees patients at the Loyola Centers for Health at Burr Ridge and LaGrange. Her medical interests include pediatric dermatology, vascular lesions (including hemangiomas and port wine stains), birthmarks, laser surgery, psoriasis and acne.

Dr. Schumacher-Kim earned her doctor of osteopathic medicine from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed an internship at NorthShore University Health System and her residency in dermatology at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals. Dr. Schumacher-Kim went on to complete a fellowship in pediatric dermatology at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago/Northwestern University.

Dr. Schumacher-Kim is a member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Dermatology, the Society for Pediatric Dermatology and the Women’s Dermatological Society.
