Bumble Bee, Brunswick Tuna Brands Recalled

The company says some cans might not be sealed well enough to prevent spoilage.

Bumble Bee Foods is recalling 5-ounce tuna cans distributed nationwide between Jan. 17 and Feb. 28. Recalled cans can be identified if the “best by” date is between Jan. 16, 2016 and Jan. 18, 2016. This applies to the following products:

  • Brunswick Brand 5-ounce Chunk Light Tuna in Water
  • Bumble Bee Brand 5-ounce Chunk Light Tuna in Water
  • Bumble Bee Brand 5-ounce Chunk Light Tuna in Vegetable Oil
  • Bumble Bee Brand 5-ounce Chunk White Albacore in Water

According to the company, loose seals on the bad batch of cans may lead to spoilage. So far, nobody has been reported ill from bad tuna.

If your tuna can is in question, call Bumble Bee for compensation at (888) 820-1947, then toss the can.
