An Easy Recipe for the Perfect Holiday Scent: Mulling Spices
Make the house smell yummy with this easy recipe to use for the holidays.
Recently I was at my sister-in-law's house and it smelled so good! I asked her what air freshener she was using and she pointed to the stove. She had a small pot simmering on the stove with mulling spices. I meant to ask for her recipe but got caught up in conversation and completely forgot. Fortunately, a friend passed her recipe along to me this week and I have to share it with you.
In a small pot, simmer:

pinch of all spice
a squeeze of lemon juice
1 vanilla bean (optional)
That's all there is to it! Just remember to keep the heat low and turn the burner off when you leave the house at night. We don't want the fire department putting out fires because we wanted our houses to smell good for the holidays.
