2014 LaGrange Pet Parade Honorary Pet Marshal

The 2014 La Grange Pet Parade is so excited to announce that this year we will have our very first Honorary Pet Marshal! From the MidAmerica Service Dog’s Foundation in Hinsdale, Illinois. “Bode”, a 3 year old yellow Labrador retriever, is a mobility service dog. He was placed with Jenny Youngwith, a young woman who faces mobility challenges due to her oxygen use and mitochondrial condition. Bode helps Jenny with her daily schedule as a transition student at Community High School in West Chicago. Bode helps Jenny by carrying her oxygen, hauls supplies to and from school, navigating stairs and he serves as a bracing support for some of Jenny’s challenging activities. With the help of Bode Jenny is able to participate in competitive cheerleading, buddy baseball, choir and a variety of recreational opportunities. Bode is her key to her independence!
