Nazareth Student Athletes Score on Court and on Ice

Nazareth Academy student-athletes continue to excel both on the court and on the ice.

While most people were resting and giving thanks over the long holiday weekend, Nazareth student athletes were competing, and winning, on the basketball court and on the hockey rink. The Nazareth community is extremely proud of these young men and women.

Congratulations to both the Varsity and Sophomore Girls Basketball teams for their 1st place finishes in the Riverside-Brookfield Thanksgiving Tournaments.  The varsity team finished with a record of 3-1 for a share of the tournament title, while the sophomore team finished with a record of 3-0 and claimed the tournament championship outright.  Congratulations to all Lady Roadrunner basketball players and their coaches.

Boys Basketball takes second at Stagg Tournament. The championship game at Stagg was a story of two halves.  The Roadrunners came out strong in the first quarter which resulted in a 6 point half time lead.  The third quarter turned out to be the downfall for the Roadrunners as they only netted 4 points as Stagg went on to win 66 - 54.  John R. Bonk led the scoring with 11 points, dished out 7 assists and hauled down 5 rebounds.  Tim Kuckailis added 10 points and 5 rebounds.  Dan Kienzle tossed in 10 points, Kevin Connelly 9 points, and Tyler Jackson 8 points.  The tournament coaches selected Bonk, Connelly, and Kienzle to the All-Tournament Team.
