Nazareth Academy Students and Faculty Offer Comfort to Victims of Hurricane Sandy

Nazareth students sign prayer blankets and raise funds for victims of Hurricane Sandy.

On Friday, November 2, 2012, Nazareth Academy sent Nazareth “prayer blankets” to the Sisters of St. Joseph in Brentwood, New York. The Brentwood location is very close to Breezy Point, which has suffered intense damage from Hurricane Sandy.

Members of each class in addition to the faculty and staff signed the blankets as a visible symbol of our thoughts and prayers. The staff and faculty also plan to send a monetary donation to Hurricane Sandy victims.

“We wanted to give our community a way of beginning the process of reaching out to those in trouble. In addition to some comfort, we hope those receiving the blankets will feel our solidarity with them in prayer and support,” said Mrs. Rosemary Caragher, Campus Minister at Nazareth Academy.
