Tips to honor mom this Mother’s Day

Nothing is as special as a mother – how do you honor her on a special day?  Here are a few suggestions from the La Grange Business Association on unique ways to celebrate Mother’s Day, and they’re all in the neighborhood, too.  Check with local merchants for details.

Francesca’s Bellezza honors mothers on Sunday, May 12th with brunch specials (a la carte, not a buffet) from 11:00am-3pm. Dinner menu available all day 11:00am-9pm. With specials on Bloody Marys, Mimosas and Bellinis. Each mother will receive a gift from Francescas. Reservations recommended 708-579-3500.

Marconi's Ristorante is open 1-8PM on Mother’s Day and will feature the regular dinner menu in addition to specials for Mother’s Day.  Reservations accepted. 708 352-1621.

Mary Ann’s Shoppe and Marconi’s Ristorante invite you to a Mother’s Day fashion event on Wednesday, May 1 or Tuesday, May 7. Doors open at 11:15.  All That Glitters will present her new program “The Jewelry of Elizabeth Taylor.”  (Did you know that Elizabeth Taylor has the largest private collection of jewelry in the world, aside from the Crown Jewels?)  Lunch will be served at noon with a fashion show to follow.  A reservation fee of $8.50 is due to hold your place. And finally, to aid mothers in crisis, TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® La Grange is taking part in the Movers for Moms® program, a community-based initiative working with neighborhood organizations to collect essential items to donate to women at You Can Make It on Mother’s Day.   The Movers for Moms® program will be running until May 8th.  Donation boxes are set up on site ready to take in much needed and appreciated donations at Oasis Women’s Fitness and Spa at 355 N. La Grange Road and the Greater La Grange YMCA at 1100 E. 31st St. in La Grange Park.
