Mark your calendar for these special dates in La Grange - there's something for everyone to do!

Are you dreaming of spring weather?  There are plenty of free events that are open to the public in La Grange beginning in April. 

Earth Day Every Day – beginning April 22

Join local businesses on Earth Day as they kick off an eco-promotion that encourages green initiatives and local shopping.  There are special events featured throughout the month like workshops on flea market treasures plus shoe recycling, pop top recycling, paper shredding, deals on eco-friendly merchandise, locally-sourced foods and eco-crafts for kids.

Girlfriends’ Getaway – May 2

Shopping discounts, dining deals, spa services for women and more are offered at this La Grange ladies night with lots of giveaways and prizes. Complimentary gift bags will be available to the first 100 girlfriends who attend.

La Grange Farmers Market from May 9 – October 24

Fresh produce, flowers and specialty items are available at a Farmers Market on Thursdays from 7am-1pm.  The market is held in the parking lot behind Village Hall on the corner of Harris and 6th Avenue and is sponsored by the West Suburban Chamber of Commerce and Industry.  

Sidewalk Art Exhibit: “Fun & Games in La Grange” from May 31- Labor Day

Dozens of whimsical bag toss games are displayed as outdoor art on the sidewalks of the business district as part of a public summer art exhibit.  Local businesses sponsor the art and secure artists who design and paint it.  You can pick up a walking map at local businesses and stroll the exhibit; look for the items hidden in the art and you may be eligible to win a prize. The art is auctioned for charity from Village Hall on September 6.

AHHH! La Grange Carnival from May 31 – June 2

Summer kicks into high gear with exhilarating rides, carnival games and old-fashioned fun during a weekend event the entire family will enjoy.  Located on Harris Avenue between La Grange Road and Ashland Avenue on Friday from 5 -10PM; Saturday noon – 10PM; Sunday noon – 7PM.  Unlimited ride specials are offered on Saturday and Sunday from noon – 4PM.  Sunday is country music day, sponsored by US 99.

67th Annual La Grange Pet Parade – June 1

Thousands get in on the action – whether marching in the parade with the family pet joined by clowns, floats and bands - or enjoying the sights from a shady spot along the route.  Don’t miss one of the largest and most widely-known traditions of the western suburbs from 9:30 -11:00AM stepping off at Cossitt Avenue and La Grange Road.

La Grange Craft Fair July 13-14

Hundreds of crafters line downtown sidewalks and enthusiasts come out in droves for one of the area’s biggest craft fairs.  Discover hidden treasures from thousands of hand-made items, folk art and knick-knacks on Saturday from 9-6PM and Sunday 10-5PM.

“Fun & Games in La Grange” Summer Art Auction – September 6

Bidding can become quite intense when this summer’s public art exhibit – colorful bag toss games designed by local artists -  go on auction from the steps of Village Hall.  Watch the live action from 5-9PM with proceeds to local charities.

West End Art Festival – September 14-15

La Grange shows its artistic side with a juried fine art show plus popular activities with local artisans – all in the shadow of the historic Stone Avenue train station.

Halloween Walk & Fall Festival – October 26

Kids join the fun in a trick-or-treat parade through the business district.  Special offerings, games and fall-themed merchant activities are featured throughout the day.

Hometown Holiday – December 7

Santa arrives by fire truck, carolers stroll the sidewalks, and hayrides, bonfires and a petting zoo set the stage for a lively holiday walk with merchant open houses.  Free trolleys shuttle shoppers throughout the area.
