La Grange Restaurants Celebrate Restaurant Week February 1 - 10

A festival of culinary fun begins next month when nearly a dozen local restaurants showcase their diversity and dish up special menus, prices, pairings and music during the second annual La Grange Restaurant Week, February 1 – 10.

The village-wide food fest, which is sponsored by the La Grange Business Association and the Village of La Grange, coincides with the timing of Chicago’s Restaurant Week to drive traffic in February.  Diners can enjoy value and amazing meals throughout the ten-day celebration.

“La Grange enjoys a restaurant reputation that we can really brag about,” said Steve Jasinski, LGBA president.  “And because of that reputation, La Grange is a first-choice dining destination.  Restaurant Week gives visitors and residents the opportunity to perhaps try something new and explore other tastes.  And maybe squeeze in some shopping, too!” he said.

Bella Bacino’s, 36 S. La Grange Road (708-352-8882)

Daily prix fixe menu featured throughout the week; $3 cravings menu of small plates; 20 wines by the glass.  Complimentary wine tasting offered every day from 4:30 – 6:30PM.

Chequers of La Grange, 100 W. Burlington (708-482-9570)

A warm fireplace welcomes patrons to this English-styled pub.  Weekly specials throughout Restaurant Week with half-price bottles of wine on Wednesday.

Fireside Wood Fired Pizza, 18 W. Harris (708-639-4432)

Shoppers Saturday on February 2 and 9: Bring in that day’s receipt showing a purchase of $20 or more at a La Grange retailer and receive 15% off your meal purchase from noon – 5PM.  Half-priced wings with dinner purchase.  On February 6, “Wacky Wednesday” offers half priced bottles of wine with dinner.  Daily Restaurant Week special of pizza with garden salad for $12 – not valid with any other offers.

Francesca’s Bellezza, 75 S. La Grange Road (708-579-3500)

Restaurant Week features a full schedule: Monday and Tuesday features $10 off all bottles of wine; Wednesday serves up a three-course prix fixe specialty menu for $28; Thursday features live jazz and $6 martinis; Friday features live acoustic guitar at dinner.

Kama Indian Bistro, 8 W. Burlington (708-352-3300)

Chef/owner Vikram Singh showcases a four-course prix fixe menu at dinner for $45 per person plus tax and gratuity; prix fixe entrees are braised lamb shank or halibut a l’orange. A four-course tasting menu for two is also featured for $60 which includes an appetizer platter, tandoori platter, two entrees (chicken or lamb) with nan bread and one shared dessert. Not valid with other offers.

Marconi’s Ristorante, 15 W. Calendar Ave. (708-352-1621)

Features a prix fixe menu at dinner with appetizer, entrée and dessert for $27 per person plus tax and gratuity. Bottles of wine are half-price on Monday and Friday.

Nicksons Eatery, 30 S. La Grange Rd. (708-354-4995)

The week begins with half price wine glasses and bottles; Tuesday and Wednesday - free appetizer with purchase of selected bottles of wine; Thursday - suggested food and microbrew pairing; Friday special is East Coast Lobster Rolls; Saturday features live music from 6:30 – 9:30PM.

An extensive beer selection of 35 on tap and 250 more in bottles appeals to the beer aficionado and the beer curious.  Food and beverage specials offered throughout Restaurant Week: Sunday 2/3 – half price appetizers during the Super Bowl (one per person) with beer and cocktail specials; Tuesday 2/5 New Holland Brewing Beer Sampling and Meet the Expert from 5 – 7PM; Wednesday 2/6 Specialty Beer Sampling with Meet the Expert from 6 – 8PM; Thursday 2/7 mini martini tasting from 6 – 8PM; Saturday, 2/9 Trinity Dance Troupe performs at 5:30PM.

Executive Chef Jack Funderburg showcases a three-course tasting menu (plus amuse bouche – “a little something extra”) at dinner for $25 per person plus tax and gratuity in addition to the regular menu.  Tasting menu is: amuse bouche, signature Prasino salad, choice of bricked chicken breast, braised short ribs or butternut squash ravioli, plus vanilla butter cake.

Q BBQ, 70 S. La Grange Road (708-482-8700)

This Michelin-recognized restaurant features the Papa Q Sampler Platter for two at $19.99: a tasting of their most popular meats like chopped brisket, pulled pork, smoked pulled chicken, Memphis wings, spicy sausage and ribs with two side and their famous Q-pups.

Wild Monk, 88 S. La Grange Road (708-255-2337)

Executive Chef Francisco Vazquez and Chef de Cuisine Joel Morrison create a special four-course “mini” beer dinner with four appetizer bites paired with four different 4.5 oz. glasses of unique draft beers priced at $18 per person.
