Actions Speak Louder Than Words....

Why Mark Langan, Bill Holder, Davie McCarty, John Burns and Tom Livingston are running together to Keep La Grange Working

Actions speak louder than words……………

I am asking for your vote for Village Trustee.  I am proudly running with Bill Holder and Dave McCarty for Trustee, John Burns for Clerk and Tom Livingston for President.   During the campaign people have asked me why we are running together.  All of us have two things in common;

1-    We have all contributed years of volunteer service to this village,

2-    We want to Keep La Grange Working as the job is not done,

Let me explain:

Find out what's happening in La Grangewith free, real-time updates from Patch.

John Burns served on and chaired the Economic Development Commission at a very critical time in our village’s history when we had empty storefronts, struggling businesses and our streets didn’t look so good.  We needed a plan.  John was a part of the solution.

Dave McCarty has served on the Heritage & Architecture Commission, Design Review, Plan Commission, leadership within YMCA Guides and Princesses, and coached soccer and basketball.

Bill Holder has served as a Village Trustee, on the Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals and is on the La Grange Memorial Hospital Board and School District 105 Finance Committee.

I have served as a Village Trustee, Park District Commissioner and President, Board member of the CommUnity Diversity Group, coached baseball, softball and basketball, and been active in the LGBA as co-Chair of Endless Summer, co-Founder and Chairman of the Experience La Grange Weekend and more.

Bill Holder, Dave McCarty and I have been involved throughout the last 15 years by not just attending meetings but contributing to the betterment of the village through its Plan Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, Liquor Commission, ETSB and more.

It is really easy to make promises during an election campaign.  It is harder to do the work.  We have DONE the work…………..   Have our opponents?

We want to Keep La Grange Working, and the job is not done,

The Village of La Grange is approximately 11.7% of our tax bills.  If your taxes are

$10,000 per year, $1,170 goes to fund police, fire, public works and community development.  Economic development has been successful (Trader Joe’s, Walgreens, parking garage, movie theatre, Prasino’s and our many Village awards) generating $1.366 million in sales tax revenue annually…of a $12 million operating budget……That is impressive………..but the job is not done. We have plans for infrastructure improvements with sewer projects (OARS & MARS), we are resurfacing and reconstructing streets and more.

This is what a resident has shared with me about why we are the right choice……..

“When your opponents lump the Village of La Grange with the financial pitfalls of the State of Illinois, they discount the efforts of each resident of La Grange.  All the volunteers of every organization who put time, effort and their own hard earned dollars to benefit our community, fall by the wayside in their eyes.”

The financial plan is working.

Please join Village President Liz Asperger, former President Tim Hansen and the Citizens’ Council of La Grange and vote for Mark Langan, Bill Holder and Dave McCarty for Trustee, John Burns for Clerk and Tom Livingston for President tomorrow - Tuesday, April 9th.  We have the experience and the vision and we will KEEP La Grange Working.
