Zoo Visitors Get Chance to Meet Pepe the Penguin

Pepe, a 5-month-old Humboldt Penguin, is making his introduction at Brookfield Zoo's Living Coast exhibit on slow days.

Chances are good that if you've got kids, you've seen several movies with them featuring a penguin cast member. Even if you don't have kids, who doesn't like penguins?

Visitors on slower days at the Brookfield Zoo are getting the chance to meet a penguin named Pepe as he strolls around at the zoo's Living Coast exhibit.

Pepe is a 5-month-old Humboldt Penguin who hatched at the zoo on March 13. When the exhibit isn't too busy, zookeepers are letting Pepe out to meet with visitors who can learn facts about penguins and conservation efforts to protect this species native to Peru.
