The couple have a special connection to Gordon Park in La Grange, as first reported by La Grange Patch in an article by Laurie Whitman titled, . 

Paul and Mickey were high school sweethearts back in the 70s at , but after high school, their lives led them down different paths. The two were reunited at a their high school reunion 35 years later and the romance was rekindled.

The call to police came at 5:46 p.m. on July 17, 2011. The report stated a couple, one in a wedding dress, were standing on the roof of an equipment shed at . The couple told police they were married earlier in the day and that this spot held some special significance for them.

Patch followed up and learned that while in high school, Paul had climbed to the roof of the building and painted, "Mickey Gervase is the greatest," while an employee with the . The location is also where 35 years later Paul would drop to one knee and propose to Mickey (see in our pictures how he did it).

The story was one of our most read last year and captured readers' hearts. We're pleased to report the couple, who now live in Deerfield, are still together and as happy as ever, according to the Tribune.
