Got Funds? Make Some Money, Save Some Money

Hodgkins, IL – On June 13, 2012, the West Suburban Chamber of Commerce and Industry Legislative Affairs Committee (LAC) brings government officials together with tax specialists to teach area employers how to use tax credits and government funding to build business.

Beginning at 9 am, Chamber Executive Director Steve Erickson will welcome Commissioner Dan Patlak, Cook County Board of Review, Program Coordinator Debbie Meyers-Martin, State Treasury, Illinois Representative Kelly Burke, and tax specialists John Hess and George Crouse to lead a free, three-hour seminar entitled "Got Funds?" The seminar presents strategies for securing new forms of funding and saving, compliments of your government and accountant.

Tax specialists from RetroTax and the Association of Independent Accountants will explain new ways the federal government is rewarding conscientious hiring practices. Patlak will offer advice on reducing property taxes, and Meyers-Martin will introduce the Treasury’s small business lending initiative.

“One of the Chamber’s principal goals is to deliver unquestioned, unique value to our members in the form of services, events and involvement that can’t readily be generated through other resources,” said Erickson. The LAC leads the organization in providing member access to area officials and their expertise.
