Saint Francis Xavier students honor veterans

Local veterans were invited by the 5th grade class of Saint Francis Xavier school in La Grange to celebrate mass together on Veteran's Day morning.  Each grade at the school has a service theme and for the 5th grade, the focus this year is on Active Duty Service Members and Veterans.  Parishioner John Walsh, who is a veteran of the U.S. Navy, spoke at the mass and in words inspiring to all ages in attendance, he emphasized the amazing sacrifice of those who serve in order to give all Americans the freedoms we cherish.
 
The veterans enjoyed a reception afterwards hosted by 5th graders.
