Lyons Swim Club wins big at 2014 Illinois Swimming Regional Championships

This past weekend, Lyons Swim Club hosted the 2014 Illinois Swimming Regional Championships.  Over 600 athletes from 20 Chicagoland teams attended the event.  The meet was a huge success for all the swim clubs and especially for Lyons.  The team broke 7 team records.  Record Breakers include Callahan Dunn, Lucy Meehan, Mackenna Dunn, Noah Breit, Ryan Dunn and David Rak.

As this meet is a final chance for most swimmers to qualify for the Senior and Age Group State championships, Lyons Swim Club successfully qualified 30 swimmers in new events or relays.  Lyons Head Coach, Casey Hnatiuk, stated "this was our first chance to hold a Championship level meet and the effort put in by the parents and staff members of our club was beyond expectations.  The meet ran smoothly from start to finish and that wouldn't be possible without the tremendous support of such a great parent organization.  Our swimmers swam amazing and the level of excitement for the next few weeks is higher than it has ever been!  Thank you to all who made this weekend a huge success."
