The Lyons Swim Club ended their regular season with a huge roar at the County Line Classic swim meet held at Lyons Feb 14-16. Over 700 athletes attended from local swim clubs including Lyons, Hinsdale, Hickory Willow, Express and Delta. Lyons Swim Club won the meet by almost 2000 points, breaking 12 team records in the process, 5 of which were over 30 years old.
Head Coach of Lyons Swim Club, Casey Hnatiuk, stated "we had our best meet of the season so far. We broke 12 team records, qualified numerous individuals and relays for the Championship meets and had a great time. This has been a great season overall for Lyons, and we are eager and ready to go for the final few meets of the year. We will be celebrating our 50th anniversary next year, and will go into it coming off perhaps the best season we have ever had. Thank you to the many volunteers and great staff that help make this possible."
Lyons Swim Club will be host of the upcoming Illinois regionals meet Feb 28-Mar 2. Lyons was selected by Illinois swimming to host this prestigious event.
