When Maura Harrington and Laura Wienke opened Conversation Piece Furniture and Consignment in May they had no idea that in less than 6 months, they would be expanding their store to 3 times the size.  The popularity of this Riverside store has grown dramatically and brings in clients and designers from the surrounding suburbs as well as the city.

Harrington and Weinke, both Riverside residents and business professionals with design and real estate home staging backgrounds, started the business to provide statement furniture at reasonable prices.  Their success can be contributed to having a keen eye for selecting pieces with good bones, made of real wood and where they see potential to transform into pure beauty.  This transformation may include a new coat of paint, fabric, hardware or all of the above.  The goal with each item is to create the conversation piece for your room.

The store carries a variety of styles from updated classic vintage to eclectic mid-century modern pieces.  There are items ready to take home that day that were either in great condition without a need for restoration or were already transformed by the design team.  You will also find items on consignment that can be customized to your taste within a few weeks.  In addition, the store does offer upholstery services for pieces you currently own and want to update and takes special orders to accommodate a clients’ wish list.

The timing of the store expansion couldn’t be better with the holidays just around the corner and customers wanting to update their homes with a new statement piece.  To learn more about Conversation Piece Furniture, visit their website at www.conversationpiecefurniture.biz, find them on Facebook or call (708) 214-9227.
