Boy Scouts to Hold Spring Recruitment Events Offering the Fun and Excitement of Scouting to Youth and Families

The Boy Scouts of America Des Plaines Valley Council has scheduled fun and exciting recruitment events this spring throughout the western and southwestern suburbs.  The events are aimed at bringing youth and families into the adventures and youth development of Scouting.

Boys entering grades 1-6 this fall can enjoy some spring fun at the events.  Potential activities include learning about and trying some of the exciting and educational activities available in Scouting: Archery; Bottle Rockets; Rain Gutter Regatta; Slingshots; and Tents and Knots.  (Scout's registration is required for participation in shooting sports where approved.   Boys may register for Scout membership for $10 at this event or, on line, at  www.beascout.org)

• Saturday May 3rd, Proksa Park, 3001 S Wisconsin Ave., Berwyn, 11:00 am – 2:00 pm;
• Sunday May 4th, Memorial Park, 132 E Oak Ave., La Grange Park, 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm;
• Saturday May 10th, Garcia Park at Wolf Rd. and North Ave., (behind Home Depot), 10:00 am - 2:00 pm;
• Saturday May 17th, River Grove Moose Lodge, 8601 Fullerton Ave,, River Grove, 10:00am – 2:00 pm;
• Saturday May 17th, Summit Park District, 5700 S. Archer Rd., Summit (Call for Time);
• Sunday May 18th, Twin Lakes Park, Corner of W. 59th S. and Williams, Westmont, 1:00 -3:00 pm;
• Saturday May 24th, Broadview Park District, 2600 13th Ave., Broadview, 10:00 am - 2:00 pm; Sunday June 1st, Denning Park, 4903 S. Gilbert Ave., La Grange, 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm;
• Sunday June 1st, Darien Community Park, 7100 Clarendon Hills Rd, Darien, 1:00 pm,- 3:00 pm;
• Sunday June 8th, Lemont Park District, 16028 W. 127th St.,  Lemont; 1:00 pm - 3:00pm;
• Sunday June 8th, First United Methodist Church, 100 W. Cossitt Ave., La Grange, (Call for Time)
