Weekend Photo+Encaustic Workshop with Sarah Rehmer

If you're yearning to try a different art experience in the New Year, think about signing up for Sarah Rehmer's Photo+Encaustic Workshop at the La Grange Art League. Sarah's class will combine photography with encaustic painting techniques to transform photo-based images into tactile works with a sense of soft focus, optical depth and layered imagery. Embedding photos with wax-based materials allows you to present translucent works on a variety of surfaces without placing them under glass. Try a number of treatments over the wax including image transfers, color glazes and hand coloring techniques. Explore an assortment of paper printing options for your photos.
