Weekend Encaustic Collograph Workshop with Jeff Hirst

Give yourself an early gift this Christmas and sign up for a printmaking workshop in encaustic collograph at the LaGrange Art League. Artist Jeff Hirst presents this workshop in which a printing plate is created by painting beeswax medium onto an acrylic panel. The plate is then inked up with water-based inks and printed on paper. The process produces wonderful tonal details in the final work. The class will explore multiple plate printing in which multi-colored images are produced. Encaustic collograph is completely non-toxic and no experience is needed in either encaustic or in printmaking to take part.
