Community Corner

LTHS History presentation April 1st

As part of Lyons Township High School’s celebration of its 125th anniversary, learn about the district’s one-of-a-kind Parthenon frieze collection inside the North Campus Reber Center foyer and why it is thought of as the crowning jewel of the 1928 building addition. Join LT Art History teacher Patrick Page as he recounts his discovery of missing frieze panels in the LT attic and discusses architect Joseph C. Llewellyn, a pioneer in high school design, the collection’s connection to world renown sculptor Lorado Taft, and how LT’s Sunday Evening Club was the community focus for five seasons. Don’t miss this fascinating and informative dive into Lyons Township High School history Tuesday, April 1, at 7pm in the North Campus Reber Center, 100 S. Brainard Ave., LaGrange. After the presentation, join local historical societies in the Community Room and browse historic LT artifacts and memorabilia. Admission is free.
