International Speech Contest - West Suburban Toastmasters

Do you want to be inspired by some short speeches? On Thursday, February 20, 2014 The West Suburban Toastmasters Club of La Grange Park, IL will be holding their International Speech Contest. On deck for the competition is:

  • Michael Folkening - Difficult Conversations
  • Ruth Princess - Search for Your Hidden Treasure
  • Raymond Miller - t.b.a.
  • Margaret Lome - Do You Know the Secret

West Suburban Toastmasters meets twice per month on the first and third Thursdays of the month from 7:00 p.m. until 8:45 p.m. at the La Grange Park Library, 555 N LaGrange Road, LGP 60526.

Twice a year there are contests in four areas of expertise. In addition to the International Speech Contest which has a goal to inspire the listener with prepared speeches, there will also be a Table Topics contest where individuals must think on their feet and answer a question. The other two contests are held in the fall and include a prepared Humorous Speech and an impromptu Evaluation of another individual's speech.

Guest are encouraged to attend.
