"In the Heights" presented by Lyons Township High School's Theatre Board

The Lyons Township High School Theatre Board and Music and Dance departments proudly present In the Heights, with book by Quiara Alegria Hudes, music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda and conceived by Lin-Manuel Miranda. Development of In the Heights was supported by the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center during a residency at the Music Theatre Conference of 2005 and was initially developed by Back House Productions. It was originally produced on Broadway by Kevin McCollum, Jeffrey Seller, Jill Furman Willis Sander Jacobs, Goodman/Grossman, Peter Fine, and Everett/Skipper. LTHS teacher Eugene O’Reilly will serve as the director, music teacher John Musick is the musical director and pit conductor, and physical education and dance teacher Terry Wethington is the choreographer. The accompanist is Emma Gingold. The student assistant is sophomore Carlina Green. In the Heights tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood – a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It’s a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind.  In the Heights is the winner of the 2008 Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Score, Best Choreography and Best Orchestrations. Performance dates are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, February 13-15, 7:30pm, and Sunday, February 16, 3pm in the North Campus Reber Center, 100 S. Brainard Ave., LaGrange. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and senior citizens.  LT students are $5 with school ID.  Tickets may be purchased in the box office before the show.  The theatre opens 30 minutes before the performance and the show starts promptly.
