Grand Avenue Preschools to host Open Houses on November 7

Grand Avenue Preschools will host open houses on Saturday, November 2 from 10am-Noon at their Western Springs and La Grange Highlands locations and on Thursday, November 7 from 6:30pm-8:30pm at their La Grange location.  The open house will give parents the opportunity to meet teachers, see the classrooms and learn more about the curriculum.

For over 30 years, parents have selected Grand Avenue Preschools as the important first step in their child’s education.  Their program focuses on fully preparing children academically and socially for their elementary education years.  Grand Avenue Directors keep in regular contact with local area grade schools to use the same teaching tools as they do, such as Jolly Phonics© and Handwriting without Tears© to ensure a smooth transition to kindergarten.

The curriculum at Grand Avenue also includes math, reading, natural sciences, music, art and fine/gross motor stimulation.  Their program is aligned with the Illinois learning standards, developed by the Illinois State Board of Education and Grand Avenue is the only preschool in the area to be nationally accredited by the National Early Childhood Program Accreditation (NECPA).

Grand Avenue offers academic programs for children ages 2 through Kindergarten.  Programs include Preschool - full or half day (morning and afternoon options), extended Preschool care with hot healthy lunch, a morning drop-off program for two-year olds and afternoon Kindergarten enrichment programs.  In addition, the school offers before/after school programs for children up to 5th grade and provides door to door bus service to Grand Avenue from many of the local area grade schools.

Grand Avenue is very proud to have a high retention rate of very experienced teachers.  Therese Klaibor, who has been a teacher at Grand Avenue for over 20 years, stated “I feel that our teachers truly care about the kids in their classes.  We are always trying to help the child be the best they can be and have fun while learning too.  Teachers at Grand Avenue receive 24 hours of in-service training per year and are Red Cross certified in first aid and CPR.

Grand Avenue Preschools are located in La Grange inside the 7th Avenue School, Western Springs in the Grand Avenue Community Center and La Grange Highlands inside the Dist 106 Elementary School.  For more information, visit their website at www.GrandAvenuePreschool.com or contact Mary Rizzardini, Western Springs Director at (708) 246-2270, Nancy Hayes, La Grange Highlands Director at (708) 579-1103 or Dan Rizzardini, La Grange Director at (708) 482-2730 Ext. 1700.
